PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY SERVICE
For over 25 years Kappa Alpha Theta has partnerned with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to impact the lives of neglected or abused children. The Zeta Phi chapter supports this philanthropy every year by hosting a tournament to benefit CASA. As women dedicated to service, we support our national philanthropy as well as other organizations on campus.
COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES
CASA is an organization that provide mentors for abused, abandoned, and neglected children. These mentors establish close bonds with the children as they interact one-on-one and serve as a voice for children during the judicial process.
With the information provided by CASA volunteers, judges are able to make informed decisions as to what is best for the child-foster care, reunification, or adoption, and in a more timely fashion. CASA programs can help a displaced child find the security he or she needs to grow.
Today, more than 900 CASA programs are in operation, with 70,000 women and men serving as CASA volunteers.
KICKS FOR CASA and DK & DONATE
Each Fall, the ladies of Theta host a kickball tournament incorporating all Greek chapters as well as many other student organizations on campus. The groups form teams and competed against one another to raise money for CASA. At KICKS FOR CASA, there is music, raffles, games, and a Mr. CASAnova.
